Him: Look at this new game trailer!
Me: You're interrupting me.
(2 minutes later)
Me: Look at this cute hedgehog!
Last week I decided that I really needed my own quiet corner. I bought a little white table from IKEA and set up my office in a corner of our bedroom. I can use it as a standing desk, and when my legs get tired I use the stool for a while.
I put some pretty photos and artwork on the wall. My new workspace not exactly Pinterest material, but it's quiet and cozy. I think I'd like to hang a cute lamp from the ceiling.
In other news, I was recently interviewed at Alex Hurst's blog Illustrious. It was a fun interview to do! You can read it here.
Distraction is a difficult thing to deal with! I work in a room that is also used as my father's computer room and a sitting room, and I was having to work very late at night so as to get some peace. But now I've mostly sorted that problem with huge wireless headphones to drown out any noise and cut down on distraction from what's going on around me. I had nowhere to move to that also had wireless reception and light!
ReplyDeleteYour workspace looks very zen, and very tidy! My desk currently looks like a bomb has hit it, I'm doing too many things at once....
That's such a cute little workspace! The chair looks very comfortable, but I couldn't help but imagine its placement was to keep people out while you're working. ;) Thanks for linking to the interview, as well. I had a great time with your answers! (And, you're also getting a few comments over there, woot!)
ReplyDeleteLol, I like your strategic thinking Alex, but actually that door just leads to a closet. :P
DeleteMy workspace is fairly simple but, like you, I post photos and art that inspire my on my wall. I have a big (but cheap) poster frame hanging on my wall that I fill with magazine clips or illustration printings in a sort of collage. I don't glue anything (the frame holds everything in place fine) that way I can rearrange and switch out images whenever I feel like it. ^^
ReplyDeleteExploring your blog for the 1st time... And I'm absolutely enjoying it! Happy to connect... :) See you sometime at my space www.cookingwithsj.com :)
